As a primary caregiver, a physical therapy can assess, diagnose and treat your injury through a combination of methods that may include: manual therapy (soft tissue release, trigger point release, myofascial release); joint mobilization; dry needling; taping; cupping; exercise prescription including Pilates based exercises. Education plays an important role in physical therapy. The goal of physical therapy is to return to your optimal function and strength while also resolving any pain issues. Our approach is a holistic and patient centered approach with one-on-one care during the entire session. We treat the entire person and recognize everything is connected. Treating both the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system is essential especially in the treatment of chronic pain.

Background

I am a Physical Therapist Specializing in Orthopaedics and Pelvic Health, as well as Chronic Pain, Hypermobility, and Movement Dysfunctions. I discovered Pilates on my continued journey of treating patients with chronic conditions as well as my own long-standing injuries from playing competitive sports/soccer. I have seen the benefit of incorporating Pilates principles in the treatment of complex conditions.

I am passionate about helping people of all ages break complex pain cycles and poor movement patterns, as well as creating positive movement experiences getting them back to the things they love to do. Pilates is an effective and efficient tool to treat and rehab patients, especially those pertaining to pelvic health, movement dysfunctions and chronic pain conditions.

With my personal experience in dealing with chronic hip pain and working with pelvic health patients, I can empathize with the frustrations that go along with chronic conditions. It can be a long road to ger relief - good and bad days, slow progress, how it can lead to other issues and pain while trying to find the right treatment approach. I take a holistic approach and that is why I got certified in Pilates. I believe patients often need hands-on treatment but also an extensive exercise routine to correct movement patterns and muscle imbalances.

I have over 15 years experience as a Physical Therapist focusing on complex conditions related to the pelvis. I love treating pelvic health issues related to the hip, back and pelvis. Since everything is connected, I also love treating the entire body as well. Correctly alignment, spinal mobility, muscle imbalances and overall movement patterns can greatly impact pain and overall quality of life.

I love helping patients get to the root of their dysfunction!
